Own Your Moment: Sunglass Hut's Summer Pool Party Pop-Up

Right in the heat of summer, Sunglass Hut made sure no one needed convincing to lean into it.

Set poolside against a backdrop of glazed emerald and gold tiles, the brand's latest activation turned "sun protection" into a full sensory event, equal parts style bar, cocktail lounge, and Instagram magnet. If the brief was to bottle the feeling of a Mediterranean holiday and hand it to Singapore for an afternoon, consider it delivered.

Flowers and fruit, styled like a still life

The tablescaping did a lot of quiet work here. Instead of leaning on florals alone, the styling team paired hot-pink gerbera daisies with halved lemons and limes — a combination that reads more market stall than flower shop, and it suited the sunglasses perfectly. Citrus has an obvious visual rhyme with eyewear (round, faceted, catching light), and scattering wedges and cut fruit across the woven blue tablecloths gave the product tables a fresh, just-picked energy rather than a stiff retail display.

That same logic carried through to the drinks: an Aperol-orange spritz and a cloudy citrus cocktail, both garnished heavily with fruit, sat on the marble pool ledge like they'd wandered off a Riviera menu. Paired with the gerberas in glass vases nearby, the whole tableau — sunglasses, flowers, fruit, cocktails — became one continuous color story rather than separate props.

The floating logo and the sunburst mirror

Two fabrication pieces anchored the space and did the heaviest branding lift. Out on the pool itself, a frosted glass panel bearing the Sunglass Hut wordmark and roundel logo appeared to float directly on the water, doubling as a screen print with its reflection shimmering back through the tiled pool floor. It's a simple trick — glass, a pool, good tile work — but it turned a swimming pool into a stage set without a single balloon arch or backdrop stand.

Inside, a bold sunburst mirror took center stage on the styling table: a square orange panel cut with radiating rays framing a circular mirror at its core, propped up like an art piece rather than a functional try-on tool (though it clearly doubled as one). It's a clever bit of fabrication — instantly photographable, on-theme with the "Own Your Moment" campaign line, and functional enough that guests could actually check how a new pair of frames looked before deciding.

Bright color, applied with restraint

The palette did the rest of the storytelling. Blues, pinks, and oranges recurred everywhere: striped orange banquettes with ikat and chevron cushions in coral and mustard, hand-fans in hot pink and orange fanned out across the tables, powder-blue drinking glasses stacked in towers, and a neon heart sign glowing pink and blue behind the bar counter. Even the ceiling got the treatment — a hand-painted mural in salmon, cream, and teal swirls that made the whole lounge feel like it belonged somewhere far more exotic than a Tuesday afternoon in the city.

What kept it from tipping into visual overload was the consistency of the palette. Every accent color — the cushions, the fans, the cocktails, the logo panel, the sunburst mirror — pulled from the same warm, saturated family, so a maximalist space still felt curated rather than cluttered.

The takeaway

This wasn't a sunglasses display so much as a mood: fruit-and-flower styling that made the tables feel alive, a floating logo that turned a hotel pool into branded real estate, and a sunburst mirror built to be photographed as much as used. Sunglass Hut didn't just show up for summer — it built a small, colorful world for people to sit in for an afternoon, sunnies optional.
